At the Department of Pharmacology and Toxicology at the University Medical Center Göttingen, novel treatment approaches are developed and tested in cooperation with clinical colleagues.

Our international team conducts research in the following areas:

1. Heart muscle weakness
2. Skeletal muscle diseases
3. Degenerative diseases of the central nervous system
4. Organ fibrosis

With the aim of organ repair, we develop and research novel cell, gene and tissue therapies.
